Note: Birth: Sep. 12, 1915 Birth: Sep. 12, 1915 Glenn A. Mitchell, 53, 3707 Woodway, died unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon at Pontotoc, Miss., after suffering an apparent heart attack. Mr. Mitchell and his brother, Ray, operated the Miss Eaton Furniture Co., at Pontotoc, and he maintained his home in Muncie while operating the factory in Mississippi. The Mitchells entered the furniture manufacturing business in 1951 with the Eaton Furniture Manufacturing Co. H was traffic manager for Marhoefer Packing Co. prior to starting his own business. He was born in Muncie and graduated from Eaton High School. Mr. Mitchell was a member of High Street United Methodist Church, Muncie Elks Lodge 245, Parker Lodge 830 F&AM and the Scottish Rite, Valley of Indianapolis. Surviving are his wife, Annette; a daughter, Mrs. Nancy Dowell, Dayton, Ohio; three sons, David and Douglas, at home, and Mike of Florida; a stepson, Tim Collins, at home; a brother, Ray, Pontotoc; two stepsisters, Mrs. Ethral Mead, Eaton, and Mrs. Donna Younts, Marion; and his stepfather, Hert Kirkpatrick, Anderson. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Meeks Mortuary with Rev. Charles Jennings, pastor of Eden Congregational Church, officiating. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Callers will be received at the mortuary from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday and prior to services Friday. Family links: Children: |
